Blog Refelctions

I learned many things about myself as a reader doing these blog posts. The blog kept me going with reading, since I had to keep reading new books, and taking notes and notice details I wouldn't have normally noticed. Writing in a notebook is different than a blog, because people will see it, so you have to be sophisticated and formal, and organized. Writing online can be limiting, because since people read it, you have to be careful with what you say in case, you hurt someone feelings, beliefs, or religion. There are more rules to follow with writing on the World Wide Web. Since people create profiles for themselves, to make them seem like a better, cooler, or more superior to their peers.

With the sculptured profiles, I think people are more comfortable with saying certain things to other people, online, that they wouldn't normally say to the persons face. Online, it is easier to be bullied since it can be anonymous. And you don't see the either persons reaction to the situation so it is different. Those rules apply over text too. I don't always think it is a good thing, because of the anonymous thing. And I would rather have conversations with people in person, but I am living in a world, where everything including bullying or chatting online, or via texting.

Personally, I wouldn't keep this blog going necessarily, but I would be willing to start another blog. That blog would be about babysitting. Where you can get information, recommendations, places to get certified. In addition, there would be tips about dealing with kids, and what age groups I am comfortable with, and information about people to get babysitters if I am not around. I think blogs are a good idea to keep people updated on information and opinions. I learned a lot from these blog posts and syntheses pages. The syntheses pages help me realize details about the book, and character realizations. I think I had a good experience with the blogs, and I am good at posting biweekly

Last Non-Ficiton Critical Analysis

Raccoons National Geographic

The article Raccoon from National Geographic is about how raccoons live closer than we think in our world. They give examples of citing of raccoons in the suburbs or in urban areas, and pictures. People think raccoons are bad and a negative part of our world. Also, how the raccoons interact with us. For example, “Raccoons also eat fruit and plants—including those grown in human gardens and farms. They will even open garbage cans to dine on the contents.” In addition “Bandit-masked raccoons are a familiar sight just about everywhere, because they will eat just about anything.” These examples help show what type of live raccoons live in the city or suburbs.

The pictures are taken from the people who saw them. It helps supports what type of live these raccoons live. For example, “In the natural world, raccoons snare a lot of their meals in the water.” In addition, “Raccoons also eat fruit and plants—including those grown in human gardens and farms. They will even open garbage cans to dine on the contents.” Another example, “They are adaptable and use their dexterous front paws and long fingers to find and feast on a wide variety of fare.” They're nocturnal so many people don’t interact with them, so they sometimes forget they're there. But they are there and they're just trying to live like we are. Also, “ The young raccoons often spend the first two months or so of their lives high in a tree hole.”

I think National Geographic included pictures with the article to show certain characteristics of raccoons that people don't know about. Many people think they're scary and not friendly because they steal our food, or maybe eat our trash. But they're just trying to make it in this world, so they have to do what they have to do. I think the pictures show that they're innocent in what they do to eat and find shelter and raise their young. I was camping in my back yard in the south of Park Slope, and a raccoon came clawing on our tent from food. At first I thought it was scary, because it as 2 am and I was freaking out. But after I realized that the raccoon was just after our food to eat. They were just trying  to survive like everyone does in this world. The pictures shown depict the innocence of raccoons and that them living isn’t as harmful as we think.
